try putting packetdup to 1 if you have put it to 0 that is 1 is default.
but i dont understand why your fps is dropping aswel with the lagg if i get lagg on the server my fps is still 250. |

the red lines normally indicates problems on the computer. a generel rule of thumb is top part is the connection and the server, bottom part is the computer and hardware. (it's not entirely true but close enough)
what you are looking at are packet loss, that is snapshots lost on the way to you, or you computer is unable to process some of the packets. check your router, it might have reset and not allowing UDP packets through properly. also check your firewall, try and shut down your firewall, play a game and see if it still pops up with the red spikes. to check wether or not it's your router that does it connect your computer not to the router but to the modem with a cable. if the red spikes still appear you know it's not the router and more likely the connection and you need to call your isp. lastly, you don't really need to worry about those red lines... as long as it's this spread apart and. each spike is one pixel wide so you wont really feel those spike when playing... if they were closer to eachother (read connected or almost connected) you would have a problem and would be forced to look into it... now it's just a "I want a clean lagometer"-issue. |

(just to explain futher, top part is how valid the frames are, and how much the client(your computer) needs to guess as to where stuff is and such, the bottom part is how the packets are processed recieved and processed on the computer, that's why the "rule of thumb", if it's the packet loss from your isp, then it's the incident that confirms the rule)

try and hook it up directly to the modem, if it still happens it's either the connection or the computer. since it's singleframes that's jumping my best bet is it's the UDP connection through the router...or your computers firewall.
so to do the best check. kill everything on your computer that you don't need to run cod4 properly and connect directly to the modem. if it runs smoothly then you work your way out, connect the router first, then start the programs one by one you have running till you find what makes it happen. |

take a screenshot of the lagometer when you got the spikes, then we'll see if we can do anything about it
